How we research costs
Every price on RenovateWiser comes from a source you can check. Here is how a cost guide is put together and kept current.
- We start from published data. National cost surveys, cost databases, manufacturer data and government sources. We don't invent figures.
- We show ranges, not one number. Costs depend on size, location and finishes, so each guide gives a typical range and what pushes a project to either end.
- We date everything. Each guide shows when its numbers were last reviewed and lists its sources at the bottom.
- We don't claim tests we didn't run. When we compare products, we say which published data the picks come from.
How we make money
We earn from display ads and from some links. When you request quotes through a partner service or buy a product through a retailer link, we may receive a commission. It doesn't change our figures or which products we list. Details are on our affiliate disclosure page.
